About the Author

Molly is a transplant from Syracuse NY who moved to Buffalo shortly after graduating college (SUNY Fredonia, class of 2011). She has loved writing since she was a child but, outside of school, never had much of a creative outlet for her words. Now, she combines her passion for prose with her passion for fitness in the blog Stay Active in Buffalo NY - researching local fitness events and activities, and writing reviews of local classes and venues.

Her fitness background - a championship-level Irish Dancer for 20+ years, she also enjoyed her years on swim team, and playing intramural softball, as well as taking many different styles of dance in college (including Egyptian Cabaret and Tribal Fusion Belly Dance, Tap, Modern, and African).

After trying a short stint as a runner (shin splints and patellar tendinitis did that dream in), she turned her sites on roller derby. During the 2016 season she played on 2 Queen City Roller Girls teams - the Subzero Sirens and the Devil Dollies.

Now she primarily enjoys taking many kinds of fitness classes around town, with yoga and zumba being two of her favorites. Other ways that she enjoys getting active include kayaking, paddleboarding, biking, snowboarding, and ice skating.
