What's Going On - Week of 3/16/17

Each week I normally publish 2 posts - Mondays will be articles and reviews. Thursdays will be a "What's Going On" feature, in which I highlight unique, one time upcoming events, and new re-occurring events.

So many ways to ring in spring, including learning Egyptian Belly Dance Combinations on Sunday at 1PM!


3/16 - Thursday

5:30PM - POCÉ Dance & Art Institute will be holding a Booty-Blast Barre class at the Delevan-Grider Community Center. 

7:30PM - East Meets West Yoga is starting their 5-week Intro to Vinyasa course

8PM - Interested in running the Buffalo Marathon? Join their Live Q&A session

3/17- Friday (HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!)

5PM - Expo Market will be holding a charity basketball shoot out.

6PM - Take a live music Vinyasa yoga class at Shakti Yoga.

6:30PM - Jada Blitz will be holding a TRX Total Body class (new class).

10PM - Dance the night away with Fanny and Calvin at Expo Market.

3/18 - Saturday

8:30AM - Join Megan from Power Yoga Buffalo at another Queen City Sweat session at Lululemon.

9AM - Rising Sun Yoga is introducing their 4 week beginner yoga course.

9AM - Need to get your mind right for working out? Attend Jada Blitz's Mindfulness series.

9AM - Yogis in Service will be holding their monthly meeting, with yoga to follow.

11:30AM - Barre Centric will be donating the proceeds from the 11:30 class to support brain cancer awareness and treatment.

12PM - OWM Yoga will be hosting a spinal rejuvenation workshop.

1PM - Learn more about your cervical spine at East Meets West Yoga studio.

1PM - Get to the Core of the Matter with work on the shoulders and hips at Love in Motion Yoga.

4PM - Bring your 6-12 year old to kid's yoga at the Amherst Public Library.

4PM - Or, bring your kids for family yoga night at Yoga Parkside.

6PM - Put on your cowboy boots for Country Night at the Polish Cadets.

3/19 - Sunday 

8:30AM - Join in to start training for a half marathon (it is recommended that you already be comfortable running 3-4 miles).

9AM - Take a Sunday trail run in Chestnut Ridge Park.

9:30AM - Enjoy a 45min yoga session at North Presbyterian Church in Williamsville.

1PM - Learn some modern Egyptian belly dance combinations at Oasis Dance Center.

1PM - Partake in some ecstatic free-form dance at Dreamland Art Studio.

4PM - Take place in 108 Sun Salutations to celebrate the Vernal Equinox.

3/20 - Monday - Vernal Equinox

10:30AM - Learn to Eat, Breathe, and Thrive at University at Buffalo (multi-day event).

6PM - Feel-Rite Fresh Market on Delaware is host a free group run for the first day of spring (yay!)

6:30PM - Garage will be holding a free first-day-of-spring POUND ROCK session!

8PM - La'Movement Fitness will be getting you ready for summer with a 90's jams playlist starting 3/20!

3/21 - Tuesday

6PM - Get swinging at a St. Patrick's Day Dance with live music at Swing Buffalo.

3/22 - Wednesday


6:30PM - Join Studio 74 for a one hour Vinyasa Yoga class in North Tonawanda.
